J.J. Abrams to helm Boilerplate; Sheriff Arpaio to shit a brick

So, J.J. Abrams is going to make a movie about Boilerplate, eh?

Do you think he knows about the 19th-century robot’s adventures with Pancho Villa?

My guess this will be the first sci-fi film to ever be banned from the state of Arizona.

You may be in luck. KPCC’s Alex Cohen recently interviewed Dr. Kodi Azari, surgical director of UCLA’s Hand Transplantation Program, who says his program is looking for candidates for a clinical study. Candidates must be between 18 and 60 years old, not have any major health problems or infections, and their amputation can’t be the result of cancer or a birth defect. In the interview, Azari says the donated hands come from individuals who have suffered “brain death,” meaning “their body is alive but they are considered dead according to organ procurement agency guidelines.”
